Meet the family!

Sun and fun to everyone!

Before I go any further, I should introduce the family. Between us, we have nine children, but these are the minors that still live with us. The others are grown and on their own.

Here we are, the traveling Tarltons!

The clean up begins!

Sun and fun to everyone!

The adventure has already begun. Just cleaning and preparing is work! Not only is it a lot of work but it’s challenging to do all we need to do, pack, clean, purge, and prepare, while remaining civil.

A plan this big requires lots of effort as two people who have two different ways of doing things, must unite. I would love to say, we are in total agreement about everything but it’s just not so. So we plan, talk, and then talk some more. Did I mention we talk? A lot?

We both have our spaces that we prefer to clean and organize in order to get ready to sale stuff. It’s hard to believe just how much stuff can be accumulated. What do we keep? What do we sale? What do we give away?

What and how many school books do I need for the children? Where will we store them all? Can we take our games and art supplies? Whoa, this is more than I bargained for!

By the time we work through all the logistics, we’ll need a vacation before leaving for our adventure!

So we carry on. I hope to put out some videos as we prepare for this venture. Most of the ones I have seen, focus on the journey of RV life. I will also include the preparation it takes to get there.

Believe me. It. Is. Work. But there’s nothing to it but to do it! Before we know it, we’ll be on the road and all this work will be a distant memory.  I hope…

Leaving this for this!

So, we have decided to leave this summer! This trip is like moving all over again. Packing, cleaning, sorting and a host of other chores. Although, it’s exciting, it’s lots of work. But we know it will be worth it once we hit the road.

This is a BIG move for us. After several conversations, we decided that we would rather have life experiences and not be tied down to a house and big mortgage. As we prepare to downsize our stuff, we realize we have way too much of it anyway.

Taking this trip is God inspired, at least we believe it is. There our plans, but His hands.

We are very excited as we prepare to leave this:

Welcome to our blog and thank you for joining us! Our adventure is one we look forward to sharing with you. We decided to travel for a year and see America, all while “roadschooling” our three youngest children, and promoting my Swift Walker children’s series.

Again, thank you for joining us on this journey. We will visit many places and see many sites. Please follow along and travel with us. Subscribe by email so you can receive updates as we travel.

Sun and fun to everyone!
